Get Your Holiday off to the Best Start
For many of us when we book our holiday, we give very little thought to how we will get to and from the airport. Now for some lucky few people who live close by to one of the UK’s larger airports getting to and from the airport for your holiday can be as simple as asking for a lift from one of your family and friends. But for those of us who live a good journey away from the airport then getting to and from the airport can become a bit of a headache. This is why it is important to think about how you will get to your departure point when you are booking your trip.
If you live far away from the airport then you have three basic choices when it comes to getting there in time for your flight.
1. Drive to the airport yourself and use an airport parking service
2. Catch the train to the airport
3. Take a coach to the airport.
Now I don’t know about you but the thought of catching a coach to the airport and then back home again fills me with dread because not only do you have to wait for the coach and then hope that it arrives on time (or worse still that your plane is not delayed which would cause you to miss your coach) but once you have been dropped off at the coach station on the way home you have to then make your way back to your house. If you have been on a long haul flight this little bit of extra journey can raise your stress levels to the roof and you might need to take another holiday just to get over it!
By far the best option is to drive and if you are travelling as part of a family this will also cut costs on tickets for trains and coaches. Better still if you are travelling with your partner then you can also share the driving (which is especially useful if you are going on a long journey).
If you choose to use an airport parking service then you will be able to find spaces at airports all over the country, as there is a big demand for this type of parking and as a result there is a good number of companies all over the UK who offer good deals for parking and keeping your car safe whilst you are away.
If you are travelling from some of the biggest airports in the UK then you will have no problems finding Heathrow Parking, Gatwick Parking and also Manchester Airport Parking. Remember though the further in advance that you book your space at one of these car parks, the better deal you will be able to get on your car parking fees.
